Heavyweight Cotton (Cotton & GSM explained)

GSM stands for "Grams per Square Meter" and describes the weight of a fabric per square meter.

The higher the GSM value, the denser and heavier the fabric.

A T-shirt with 200 GSM feels significantly different from a light, standard shirt with 140–160 GSM:

  • It has more substance and structure

  • It drapes cleaner on the body (better "drop")

  • It looks higher quality and less "thin"

  • It retains its shape even after many washes

Why does it last longer?

Because densely woven cotton is less likely to stretch out, remains more stable, and is less prone to deformation.

Why does it feel better?

Because the fabric has more weight, feels more stable, and doesn't "cling" to the body or appear thin – a crucial factor, especially during training.

Why does it cost more?

Because more material, higher quality yarns, and a more elaborate weaving process are necessary.

What Quality Really Costs

A premium gym shirt is not created by a single step, but through many elaborate processes:

  • Fabric selection and material testing

  • Cut development and fit optimization

  • Multiple development and sampling rounds

  • Production adjustments and technical corrections

  • Quality controls (including wash tests and stress tests)

  • Smaller production quantities instead of mass production

  • Packaging and logistical effort

Every single sample is produced, tested, adjusted, or discarded – until the result meets our own standards.

High Intensity Screen Printing

For our first collection, we use a high-quality, high-intensity screen printing process.

This print is significantly more durable and elaborate than standard printing methods.

Why is it more expensive?

  • Multiple print layers for greater durability

  • More precise processing

  • Longer production time per piece

  • Higher quality control

The result is a print that remains clear, sharp, and stable even after many workouts and washes.

Made in Portugal vs. Mass Production

We deliberately chose production in Portugal.

Not because other countries are worse – but because this setup best suits our requirements:

  • smaller, specialized production quantities instead of mass production

  • more direct exchange with production partners

  • higher quality control at every step

  • European standards in working conditions and production

  • fairer and more transparent work processes

  • shorter transport routes within Europe

This decision is based not on marketing, but on quality, control, and responsibility.

Japanese Philosophy & Collections

Our brand is strongly inspired by Japanese principles.

Terms like Chanto (ちゃんと) or Nintai (忍耐) are not coincidental or decorative.

Each collection with a Japanese name carries a true meaning that is deeply connected to training, character, and development.

We see it as our responsibility not just to use these terms, but to understand and explain them correctly.

Many brands use Japanese characters without meaning or context.

We deliberately take a different approach:

  • Each term has a clear definition

  • Each collection tells a fitting story

  • Each meaning is explained and respected

NINTAI was just the beginning of this philosophy.

Future collections will carry further values – always with true meaning, never as a mere design element.
